Outdoor HARC Sign

At Harmony Animal Hospital Pet Resort & Spa, we believe in compassionate care for every pet—and that includes the thousands of homeless animals across North Carolina who deserve a chance at a healthy, happy life. That belief led to the creation of Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic (HARC), our dedicated non-profit veterinary clinic built on a mission of healing with heart.

The Heart of HARC: Why It All Began

After years of serving pets and their families with trusted veterinary care, Co-Founders Dr. Jodi Reed and Jason Lenhardt sought a meaningful way to give back to the community that helped Harmony Animal Hospital grow into the full-service facility it is today. They saw a significant need: over 100 rescue groups in North Carolina were working tirelessly to help an estimated 39,000 homeless dogs and cats—many of them without reliable access to affordable animal rescue veterinary services.

In 2020, Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic (HARC) opened its doors with one clear goal: to help more homeless pets find their forever homes by offering low-cost, high-quality rescue vet services to animal rescue organizations. As a non-profit animal hospital, HARC is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every pet deserves a second chance.

“It’s always been my dream to create a dedicated space that provides veterinary care to non-profit animal rescue organizations. Having timely, low-cost care helps rescue groups save more lives by getting dogs and cats fostered and adopted more quickly.”
— Dr. Jodi Reed, Co-Founder

What Makes HARC Unique?

Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic is proud to be the only non-profit vet clinic on the East Coast exclusively devoted to helping cat and dog rescue organizations. As a registered 501(c)(3) rescue animal hospital, HARC works only with other licensed 501(c)(3) animal rescue groups, animal welfare organizations, and government-funded spay/neuter programs.

Vital Rescue Veterinary Services

At HARC, we provide essential rescue veterinary services for homeless animals, including:

  • Wellness exams and diagnostics
  • Spay and neuter surgeries
  • Vaccinations and lab work
  • Heartworm treatment
  • Dentistry and dental cleanings
  • X-rays and advanced imaging
  • Amputations and other outpatient procedures
  • Physical therapy and rehabilitation

Each service offered at our animal rescue clinic is designed to improve quality of life and help pets get adopted faster. We believe accessible, high-quality animal rescue hospital care is the key to helping more pets find their forever homes.

How You Can Help Rescue Pets Thrive

Running a high-quality non-profit vet clinic is no small task, especially when rescue organizations often operate with limited resources. That’s where your support makes all the difference. When you donate to Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic, you help provide life-saving medical care to pets in need. Your generosity helps us:

  • Keep rescue vet services affordable for rescue groups
  • Purchase and maintain state-of-the-art medical equipment.
  • Expand our non-profit animal hospital’s reach.
  • Support faster recovery and adoption for homeless pets.

“Helping one homeless pet might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one homeless pet.”
