Jodi Reed, DVM

Dr. Jodi Reed graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After completing a rigorous one-year internship in West Los Angeles, she practiced in Redondo Beach for a year before moving to Apex in 2003 to be closer to her family. Over the next eight years, she worked at several veterinary hospitals before proudly opening Harmony Animal Hospital in May 2009. In November 2018, the hospital expanded to its current state-of-the-art facility, offering extended services such as boarding, doggie daycare, grooming, multiple surgical suites with expanded oral surgical care, and rehabilitation services.

In addition to being a practicing general practitioner (GP) veterinarian and owner of Harmony Animal Hospital, Dr. Jodi has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and general veterinary dentistry. She has successfully completed the Veterinary Dental Practitioner program* through the International Veterinary Dental Institute (IVDI), a one-year training and assessment course ensuring exceptional skills in providing oral care for pets in general practice.

Since 2019, Dr. Jodi has had the honor of working with her mentor, Dr. Brett Beckman, a board-certified veterinary Dentist, and IVDI founder, at his practice, Atlanta Veterinary Dentistry. There, she helps pets live better lives through proper oral care. She serves as his co-instructor, training other GPs to excel in general practice veterinary dentistry and successfully complete the Veterinary Dental Practitioner course.

In her personal time, Dr. Jodi enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Jason, and their three daughters, Kayla, Olivia, and Sophia. They have two dogs—Marshall, a German Shepherd Husky mix, and Levi, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel—and three cats named Kalulu, April, and Sparrow. Additionally, her family has a flock of chickens and ducks, and her daughter Kayla has a ball python named Tai. Dr. Jodi’s favorite hobbies include scuba diving, photography, traveling, and working with several pet rescue organizations.

Dr. Jodi loves every aspect of being a general veterinarian, especially her focus on companion animal oral health. She finds great joy in seeing the health benefits and renewed vitality that animals experience when they receive proper oral care. It is of the utmost importance to Dr. Jodi that you feel Harmony Animal Hospital is a part of your pet’s care team. Dr. Jodi and her experienced, caring team will always treat your pets like their own!

*The Veterinary Dental Practitioner program provides additional study, training, and assessment to enhance a GP veterinarian’s knowledge and skills in veterinary dentistry, but upon completion of the program are NOT board-certified specialists.
