Molly Shelton, DVM
Molly Shelton, DVM, graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Following veterinary school, she completed a small animal emergency and specialty internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro. There Dr. Molly developed her surgical skills and gained expertise in treating complicated pet emergencies and chronically ill pets. Dr. Molly specializes in surgery and emergency procedures and wants to pursue training in laparoscopy and endoscopy to provide minimally invasive options for our patients.
Since working in general practice for 3 years, Dr. Molly has developed a passion for dentistry and dermatology. She has served as a medical director – evaluating treatment protocols, researching new therapies, and developing resources for client education.
Originally from High Point, North Carolina, Dr. Molly studied marine biology at Duke University as an undergraduate (and yes, she did live in a tent to get tickets to Duke/UNC games) prior to focusing on veterinary medicine. She enjoys rowing and weight lifting, and baking. Dr. Molly and her husband, Troy, live in Cary with their son, Owen, and their ragdoll cat, Ella. They love trying new restaurants and activities in the Triangle—any and all recommendations are welcome!
