Kevin Wilson, DVM started his road to veterinary medicine as a kennel attendant at a hospital in his hometown of Corvallis, Oregon. After high school he pursued undergraduate degrees in Pre-Veterinary Medicine/ Animal Science and International studies at Oregon State University. He spent time during his college days working at veterinary hospitals, participating in vaccine development and providing herd health care in Senegal, West Africa. He entered the Veterinary Program at Oregon State and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001 from a combined program at the Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine and the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation Dr. Kevin worked as medical director of a large general medicine and emergency practice outside of Seattle for 15 years. He developed special interests in Ultrasound, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Sighthound medicine and Working K-9 medicine, although he enjoys all aspects of the job!
The Wilson family elected to move to the Triangle area in 2016 to be closer to friends and family in the area. They sold their home and possessions, loaded up an RV and spent the summer traveling cross-country, visiting friends and family along the way. After arriving in Raleigh they settled outside of Fuquay-Varina and Dr. Kevin found a new veterinary home at Harmony Animal Hospital. While the weather and environment are totally different than what they are used to, the Wilson family is enjoying all that our area has to offer.
When not busy at the hospital Dr. Kevin enjoys hiking, gardening and spending time with his family which includes his partner Scott, their daughters Rowan (5) and Madelyn (3), and their furry kids Golden Retriever Quigley (15), Greyhound Killian (8), and Sir Walter Whippet Wilson (5). If anyone has great recommendations on places to hike in North Carolina, be sure to let him know when you see him!
