Services

Wellness and preventative care - We realize that each pet is an individual, and we tailor our recommendations to each individual patient. From puppy or kittens, through their adulthood and into the senior years, we recommend wellness care, vaccinations, and testing tailored to your pet's specific needs.

Behavioral counseling - We can offer advice and recommendations for common behavioral problems. We also have great recommendations for trainers or behavioral therapists if your pet has more complicated behavioral issues.

Nutritional counseling and Therapeutic diets - Nutrition plays a vital role in a pet's overall health, and in some cases, is key in disease management. We have a variety of diets available to meet the individual needs of our patients. We can recommend a general diet for your healthy pet, or provide a diet that will help improve your pet's medical condition. We proudly offer both Purina and Royal Canin prescription veterinary diets.

Vaccinations - Vaccinations are very important to maintaining your pets health, but we don't believe in vaccinating every pet for every disease. Over-vaccination can lead to a variety health problems on its own. We will happily discuss your pet's lifestyle and risk factors with you, and together we will formulate a vaccination schedule that is right for your pet.

Pet weight management - Does your furry friend need to lose a few pounds? So many pets are overweight which can have devastating effects to their health. Just like us, excess weight can lead to heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, and can actually shorten their lives. Purina did a study over 14 years to compare obese dogs to those who were fed appropriately and maintained normal body condition, their results found that the dogs who maintained a healthy weight actually lived an average of two years longer. That is a very long time and our goal is to keep your furry babies here with you happy and healthy for as long as possible. For more information on the findings and the Purina Lifespan study, visit the Purina Pet Institute website at www.purina.com. We can help formulate an individualized weight loss plan, plus offer support and helpful hints along the way.

Senior care - By making wellness and preventative care a top priority for our patients from the start, we hope to stay one step ahead of the aging process. We recommend senior diagnostic screenings based on the individual pet. This may include lab work, urinalysis, ECG, and radiographs, just to name a few.

End of life care/grieving care - We know that losing a pet is an emotional and extremely difficult time for a family. Unfortunately, we here at Harmony have all been through it with our own beloved pets, thus we have created quiet, intimate grieving room here in the hospital to ensure your pet's final visit to us is as relaxed and peaceful as possible, for you and your pet. We also offer for Dr. Jodi to come to your home to perform euthanasia, since it may be difficult for you or your pet to come to the hospital. This is a nice option for animals who fear the vet hospital or for owners who simply want to grieve in the privacy of their own home. We use Faithful Friends Crematory. They are very caring and respectful of the pets in their care. They even provide the option of individual cremation so that your pet may be returned to you if you wish.

Anesthesia - We understand that anesthesia may often be a concern for pet owners, and we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our beloved patients. We use the safest anesthetics available, and patients are constantly under the watchful eyes of our highly skilled nursing staff who use the most up to date monitoring equipment (ECG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, end tidal CO2, and two warming systems to ensure your pet stays warm during procedures). While there is always a slight risk in undergoing anesthesia, it is EXTREMELY rare for life threatening complications to occur. We do everything medically recommended to prevent this from happening to our patients.

Surgery - We offer soft tissue (spays, neuters, mass removals, splenectomy, biopsies, foreign body removal, etc.), orthopedic (cruciate ligament repair, fractures, luxating patella's, femoral head and neck ostectomy, etc.), and oral surgery (simple and complicated tooth extractions, tumor removal, full mouth extractions for cats with severe stomatitis, palate repairs, etc.). To optimize the outcome of our patient's procedures, we are proud to use the Cutting Edge CO2 Laser as an option for your pet's surgery. Laser surgery minimizes bleeding, is less invasive to the surrounding tissue, has been proven to be less painful for your pet, promotes shorter healing times, and decreases the chance of complications associated with using a scapel blade. Because of the dramatic difference in the reduction of bleeding and pain, laser surgery is the only option we provide for cat declaws. To learn more about laser surgery you can visit our laser surgery page .

Dentistry - We offer complete dental services from oral evaluations to prophylactic dental cleanings, tooth extractions, oronasal fistula repairs, stomatitis, and the treatment of extensive periodontal disease. Dr. Jodi has a special interest in dentistry, and is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society. She has received several advanced training courses on feline and canine dentistry. We are also very excited to have a dental work station with digital dental radiography for the highest quality oral x-rays, individualized sterile surgical packs for each patient, fiber optic high speed dental drill for more accurate dental extractions, and much more advanced dental instruments and equipment. Our nurses have years of dental experience and share Dr. Jodi's passion for oral health. Our team will be happy to formulate and demonstrate a detailed dental home care program that works best for you and your pet!

Therapy Laser - Laser Therapy is used to treat pain, inflammation, edema, and for repairing superficial lesions. Conventional laser therapy has been in use for more than 25 years, with more than 3,000 scientific publications having tested its effectiveness and the validity of this approach. It has been demonstrated that it is not toxic and it has no side effects. In addition, it has been FDA-approved to treat these conditions and supports those claims. Where conventional laser therapy is very effective in treating inflammation or pain, current laser therapy technology allows both to be treated simultaneously. This technology is known as MLS Laser Therapy. In abbreviated terms, MLS Laser Therapy uses both Continuous Laser Emissions and Pulsed Laser Emissions. Continuous Laser Emissions act fast on inflammation and induce fast re-absorption of fluid build-ups. Pulsed Laser Emissions, on the other hand, have an immediate effect on pain, since they are able to produce analgesia, interfering with the very transmission of the pain impulse to the higher brain centers. MLS Laser Therapy offered at Harmony Animal Hospital is able to combine and synchronize emission of continuous and pulsed laser emissions simultaneously, allowing the benefits of each type of therapy to not only take place at the same time but reciprocally reinforce each other.  To learn more about laser therapy you can visit our laser therapy page .

Radiography - We offer the very latest technology with our digital radiography. This allows us to take instant images without ever leaving your pets side to go process the film the old fashioned way. This is a more accurate x-ray, provides greater detail, and gives us the immediate ability to send your pets images to a veterinary specialist for review if there are any concerns (most reports come back the same day!). Overall digital radiography increases the speed of taking the images, quality of the x-rays, and most importantly adds to the comfort of an x-ray procedure for our patients.

Laboratory - Our lab samples are sent to a state-of-the-art outside lab, to ensure the highest quality results. We feel that the quality control, speed, and preciseness of these outside labs will provide the most accurate results for your pet, helping us to ensure we make early and correct diagnosis of potential medical abnormalities. For most routine tests, results are available within 24 hours.

Pharmacy - We offer a wide variety of medications, therapeutic shampoos, supplements, diets, and dental home care products for your convenience in our office. We also have an online pharmacy with home delivery. If we don't routinely carry a product for your pet, just let us know and we will do our best to get it ordered and delivered to you within a couple of days!

Bathing - We offer routine "just need a clean up bath" and therapeutic bathing for skin related issues (ie. yeast and/or bacterial infections, flea baths, foot soaks, etc) in our beautifully tiled, non-slick, raised bath tub. Our tub also has a tie bar so that we can harness your pet during bathing to ensure their safety.

Microchipping - A valuable asset to all pets and their owners. Microchipping aids in the safe return of thousands of lost pets each year. We proudly use HomeAgain microchips for our patients. These microchips can be safely injected to an awake animal with minimal discomfort. Included with the HomeAgain microchip registration is one year of their Pet Recovery and Protection Service plan. Although the initial registration fee of $16.99 includes lifetime enrollment into their National Pet Recovery Database, there will be a completely optional ability to renew an Annual Pet Recovery and Protection HomeAgain Membership. The Annual Membership plan gives the added benefits of a 24/7 hour pet loss specialist (who will be an active member in recovering your pet in the event they become lost), access to Pet Loss Alerts (which sends a picture, description, location, etc. of your lost pet to local shelters, rescue groups and vet hospitals), includes Medical Insurance (covers up to $3000 with a $50 deductible for any injuries your pet sustains while they are lost), and free 24/7 access to the ASPCA Pet Medical Emergency Hotline (a $60/call value). While you can see there are many benefits to the $16.99 annual membership to HomeAgain, we want you to know that it is optional and your pet will always be registered in the HomeAgain Database regardless of your decision to renew.
